I'm 24! When did this happen??

So Thursday was my birthday! It was so fun, there have been two parties to celebrate! One was at the Freer Museum. It was for the event Asia After Dark but it just so happened to fall on my bday too. There was plenty of Asian inspired food and drink- including this one AMAZING mixed drink called One Night in Tibet, which I *think* had some gingery flavored liquor in it? Let's just say I spent about three nights in Tibet :-P

Yesterday I had a party at my place, which was SO fun! It was a gorgeous night so we all congregated on the balcony and had drinks and chit chatted. Then there was FUNFETTI CAKE AHHH! Followed by an ultra-sexy-special viewing of the worst movie ever, The Room. Some of us were a *little* inebriated by that point, so we spent much of the film yelling at the screen and throwing spoons.. which is actually what you're supposed to do when you see it sober, coincidentally.. It was a-mazing.

Today I'm a little tired.. but very very happy :) Went to Bruegger's this morning and had something called a Leonardo da Veggie. It doesn't get any better.

So now I'm 24.. Perhaps that means I'm supposed to be an adult at this point. I don't feel like one at all, but I at least feel like I've grown in maturity/responsibility/boring whatnot in the past two years. It's nice to know I can at least stand on my own two feet in a city and pretend to be a grown-up.

Maybe now I can pretend to update this blog semi-regularly.

Things people at work talk about:

-Taking their girdle off
-Looking forward to pooping. (They used the term "being regular" but it's basically the same thing)
-wrecking renting cars
-eating amazing smelling food ALL THE TIME.

I drank too much coffee today.

I saw an ad with a bunch of hipster kids running around a Polaroid crayon-colored world with white letters being scrawled everywhere. Tired sayings like "don't settle" and "stand out" and "do your own thing goshdarnit." Can you guess what it's an ad for?

Hey kids, stand out by eating bland egg-flavored crap that your mom's been putting on your sandwiches for years.

I need some cheeriness today. Thanksgiving came and went so quickly and, while delicious, the Tryptophan hangover is always a bit of a downer. Soooo yeah. Everyone's starting to hang Christmas lights over their balconies, so everything is pretty and festive.. I love that.

sunday lovely sunday

Hi my loves! I'm trying posting on Facebook now, so bear with me while I try figuring out how this works. How are you doing today? This weekend was so much fun, went shopping in Friendship Heights with Mike Cowhand yesterday, and had some fun in Chinatown in the evening time. Rocket Bar is so awesome. They played Bad Romance twice, once while Heather, Jacob and I owned some randoms in shuffleboard. I'm aware that I sound 80 years old.

Happy Halloween! Heather carved a pumpkin and is roasting the seeds. The apartment smells AMAZING. She's so awesome at this kind of stuff.

We went to the zoo last night!! But the pandas were sleeping :( It was "Night of the Living Zoo" with a costume party and stuff.. I was gonna go as Lady Gaga, but the wig I ordered was beyond awful, so....

Twiggy it was! Thank goodness for short hair and vintage dresses! On the left is my lovely Newsie roomie. I wanted to steal her hat and run home with it! But she knows where I live...

There are a couple more parties tonight.. I might wear another dress and do a bit more elaborate Twiggy-ish makeup.. I think I did well though, considering I changed my costume in 5 minutes yesterday.
