Oh my gosh I had so much fun this weekend! Details as follows:
Friday:
Clarendon Ballroom! So fun! We literally danced for hours. And avoided random drunkies who kept saying "Eyyyy we went to UVAAAAA!" Good friends, good whiskey, and gooood music, topped off with drunken IHOP! <333
Saturday:
Partyyy at Mike's apartment! Oh gosh that was fun. Everybody wore all white, and had to bring a bottle of champagne, and there was white sangria! And bread pudding! Random but delicious! Mike and I came back and flopped on his couches, and were talking, and I guess in mid-sentence we passed out because all of a sudden it was 6 am and I was covered in a big blanket. Such a fun night! I'm so glad he'll be in DC!
Oh gosh.. this weekend is the big move to Ballston.. I can't wait! Until then gotta save up dem moneys. Love love!

Hey cool cats and kiddies.
I haven't written in a while! Let's see.. I just got back from vacation in West Virginia with my family (aka the Dirty Dancing place where my parents met). It was perfect. That's all I can say. It made it impossible to come back to work, but it was perfect.
Does anyone know anything about NaNoWriMo? I've heard stuff about it, but never really done it. Anyway there's apparently a more lax one you can do in August (AugNoWriMo.. sounds like a weird disease), and I need some inspiration so I think I'm gonna do it.. There have been a few ideas bouncing around in this old noggin, and I've never written a book, so who knows what'll happen. Plus I like the idea of "total literary abandon." Maybe that'll be a good change from the rigor of crazy fiction workshops.
Infinite Jest status: 450 out of 1079. I'm tryinggg to keep up with the syllabus on InfiniteSummer.org, but that can be tough.. like when one has no time to read, and is peering into the abyss of a 14 page footnote (with its own endnotes). But I've grown fond of those nutty Incandenzas so I'll keep on rocking.
What's going on with you guys? Anything fun? <3 you all!

"I think one of the true ways I've gotten smarter is that I've realized that there are ways other people are a lot smarter than me. My biggest asset as a writer is that I'm pretty much like everybody else. The parts of me that used to think I was different or smarter or whatever almost made me die." -DFW
The original title was A Failed Entertainment, and the book is structured as an entertainment that doesn't work
For whatever reason, the call volume's low today at Freddie. So I'm reading an article that's almost made me cry.
The Lost Years and Last Days of David Foster Wallace: Rolling Stone
In related news, IJ status: 343 out of 1079. I must triumph!
Tomorrow I get to see my family! Going over to Capon Springs, WV, where my parents' families meet up every year to chillax for a week. My parents met there, so it's very Dirty Dancing.
I'm looking majorly forward to seeing everyone, as well as lying by a pool, getting tan and *trying* to make a dent in DFW. Good week :)
How are you guys doing?

In other news..
I'm so pissed off about Playboy buying Nabokov's last manuscript I could scream.
It was his DYING WISH not to have it see the light of day. Fuck you Hugh Hefner!
Okay maybe it's more his son's fault for selling it, but still.
Happy Friday!
